SVIT
(2022-now)

‘Svit’ is a project created by a Ukrainian team of four people, including me, aimed at developing technical solutions in order to enhance communication.

The main target audience for our work are displaced children and youth who require assistance in order to find safety and adjust to the new environment.

Refee (2022)

The first project that our group ever worked on was an app that could support the children who have to cross the border without their parents or guardians because of war conflicts or environmental disasters.

Seeing as the app would be used by children, some as young as six years old, I tried my best to make the interface as easy to understand as possible while working on it.

My intention was to create a design that would be playful and childish, hoping that it could bring a sense of comfort, which is why I have also decided to make our app’s logo a picture of a toy panda that was popular among Ukrainian children at the time.

At the same time, as we were releasing Refee, I was also working on creating a visual identity for our team, designing things like business cards or holiday greetings that could represent the meaning of our project.

Svity (2023)

The second application that our team has worked on was created to help children and teenagers who were already safe physically but still struggled to communicate and adjust to their new environment.

The main idea of ‘Svity’ was to allow young people to get to know those around them through a set of anonymous questions in hopes that it would provide a way to adjust to a new place without a feeling of fear of being pushed straight out of one’s comfort zone.

The name ‘Svity’ translates to Ukrainian as ‘worlds’, which ultimately represents the meaning of the app, as its purpose is to unite people’s mental worlds.
This is also the idea that I have built the design of the interface around, as at the starting stages of this app, our team was focusing on the idea of a certain mental bubble that often makes teenagers and young people feel stuck when it comes to communication with others.

I wanted the design of my app to be minimalistic in order for it to appeal to teen audiences. However, I also included this idea of bubbles and the way we can combine them together.

As a part of my work, I am also managing our social media accounts.
My main goal is to create a distinct and easily recognisable style without it being too obvious or repetitive.
